Caring Cards for Seniors

While physical isolation of certain populations is important for public health during this time, we can all support the elderly in our area by helping them feel less alone and more connected…

The SVF Respect Life Ministry will be collecting uplifting letters and cards to be distributed to residents at two local assisted living facilities in an effort to lift spirits and remind those who are in the loneliest of situations that someone loves them and is thinking about them!

Cards can be handmade (those with children’s artwork are especially encouraged), store-bought, written on loose-leaf paper, or fancy stationery. Anything is appreciated and welcomed!

Please write in large, legible print, embrace creativity, and be kind and thoughtful (this is not a pen pal exchange, so avoid anything that may prompt feelings of obligation to respond). Make or fill out as many cards or letters as you’d like and if you choose to include an envelope, kindly leave it unsealed*.

Cards can be dropped off at the SVF church office Tuesday, May 26th – Friday, May 29th between 9 am and 2 pm. A drop box will be available outside of the office doors.

If you have any questions, please contact Nicole at 561-316-7505 or respectlife@stvincentferrer.com.

*The CDC has indicated that COVID-19 is unlikely to be spread from domestic mail and all facilities receiving the letters are taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety of recipients.
